MOLD & MILDEW INVESTIGATIONS

Mold spores are everywhere, especially in Florida with its warm, moist environment.  These spores only need three things to flourish: temperature between 40° and 100° F, a food source, and moisture.  Florida provides the viable temperature range and our building materials provide the food source.  The only item we can control is the moisture.

Applied Forensic Engineering (AFE) not only addresses the detection and identification of molds and fungi and associated indoor air quality issues but also determines theMold Inspection causation of water intrusion.  We do this by investigating all aspects of the problem from the construction or design condition that allows the water to intrude, to the resulting moisture levels of various building components, and, the resulting levels of contamination.

Our mold investigations typically determine if mold is present, identifies the genus and species of fungi and assesses the extent of mold invasion. We can also provide written remediation protocols, monitor the remediation process and perform clearance testing upon completion of the remediation.  When we identify the source of moisture intrusion, we can also recommend repairs to the defective area.  Following the investigation, a clear, comprehensive report is provided that can be used to subrogate to the responsible party.
